Yep .. registry settings fall under the same scrutiny. Its not just that though ... its the 3rd party OCX control or .Net assembly that would require all the clearances that the registry points to. Getting QA & Production approval would certainly be a challenge for us. I would assume that the US Government would also have the same type of lock downs on its desktop PC's as well.
I'm confused. The Canadian government makes a big deal of out of installing the software on desktops. But you can install it on a server without going through the same reviews and then call it via a web service and that's ok?
